چکیده
Selected Malaysian black shale sequences of the Permo-Triassic and Devonian ages that crop out in Central Belt were investigated to discuss their chemical composition, provenance, tectonic setting, weathering history. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis shows BRSZ Unit 1 has elevated SiO2, TiO2, K2O contents compared Semantan Gua Musang shale. In terms trace elements, element shales. The highest V, U, Pb, Mo relative other two formations. content is significant thought be associated with total organic carbon (TOC) Compared Post-Archean Australian Shale (PAAS), shales are low Fe2O3, MnO, CaO, Na2O, P2O5. deficient K2O, P2O5 enriched MnO. Cu, Ga, Rb, Mo, Sn, U. Except for Pb (mean: 32.3 ppm), largely depleted elements. Similar shales, all concentrations exception Sc 22.3 which slightly higher. Provenance 1, Semantan, derived from felsic intermediate parental source rocks. indicate a collision whereas show affinity continental arc setting. CIA values samples analyzed this study range between 79.4 95.8, indicating an intense warm wet paleoclimatic conditions. average CIW 99.4, 94.5, 98.6, respectively, implying degree

Geochemistry of the Paleocene Sediments from SW Ahar: Implications for Provenance, Tectonics and Source Rock Weathering
The mineralogy and geochemistry of Paleocene shales and interbedded siltstones in the southwestern of Ahar town (NW Iran) were studied by optical microscopy, XRD, SEM, XRF, and ICP-MS techniques. The mineralogical composition, mainly characterized by calcite, quartz, feldspar, dolomite, muscovite, magnesiohornblende, chlorite, illite, montmorionite, palygorskite, and koninckite, suggests relati...
متن کاملPetrography, Mineralogy and Geochemistry of Kuhkamar Shale in the Roum section (South of Qayen): Application for Provenance and Tectonic setting
The Kuhkamar shale with a thickness of 354 m is composed of siliciclastic rocks (sandstone and shale). Petrography studies of the sandstones in this area show two petrofacies including arkose and sub-arkose. These sandstones composed of sub rounded to moderately sorted; therefore, compositionaly to texturaly, they are immature to submature with mono and polycrystalline quartz and k-feldespar. I...
متن کاملGeochemical And Petrographic Studies Of Lokoja Sandstone: Implications On Source Area Weathering, Provenance, And Tectonic Setting
Ten road cut samples collected from five lithological sections of Lokoja sandstone formation in the Middle Niger basin were investigated using integrated granulometric, petrographic and geochemical analyses. Results of grain size analysis; standard deviation and skewness which ranges from 0.08 to -0.05 and 0.59 to -0.07 respectively suggest very well sorted to moderately well sorted sediments. ...
متن کاملcontribution of setting to the study of characters and the main idea in e. brontes: wuthering heights and t. hardys: return of the native.
this thesis aims to adduce an unmitigated and comprehensive explication concerning the relationship of three significant elements of fiction: setting, chracter and theme. my research is basically placed on two outstanding novels of the 19th century: emily brontes wuthering heights and thomas hardys return of the native. my endeavour lies in studying the correlation among the three above-mention...
15 صفحه اولIntroduction to geochemistry of metalliferous black shales
Metalliferous black shales exhibit a wide range of physical and chemical characteristics. They can be enriched in many different metals, and the metals can be in a variety of geochemical states. Depositional and geological histories of these shales are diverse. Some metalliferous black shales contain relatively high concentrations of organic matter whereas others do not. Because of elevated car...
